Pastel colored roses

Hello!

Hello, Rose Friends and Gardeners!

We are a small, family-owned rose business located in the beautiful Northern California Valley. With deep roots in the rose industry, our family has spent nearly 90 years—spanning five generations cultivating knowledge as rose growers and breeders. We have utilized these skills and knowledge, that have been passed down to us, when creating our new company.  At FloriCulteur, our mission is to provide premium-quality, band-sized, grafted rose plants and own-root roses for your garden. We are committed to delivering beautiful roses that will bring you joy for years to come. Each band plant we send, is greenhouse-grown and custom-grafted especially for you onto your choice of rootstock.

We are especially excited to offer Fortuniana rootstock as a grafting option for gardeners in zones 7a and warmer. For colder regions, we also provide varieties grafted onto Multi-flora and own-root plants.

Our extensive catalog features a diverse selection of roses, including heirloom varieties, English roses, French roses, and award-winning roses that have stood the test of time in gardens across the United States.

If you have any questions about our roses, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re always happy to help and provide any assistance you may need.

Fortuniana Rootstock

Why Choose Fortuniana Rootstock?

The amazing Fortuniana rootstock produces more blooms and foliage on the plant than other rootstocks with blooms that up to 20% larger as well. This is largely due to the excellent, expansive root system that provides all of the energy to the top of the plant above the graft union. It does best in warmer climates (7a) or warmer. This Root stock is known to be more resistant to disease and pests. It is also known to be resistant to crown-gall and root knot nematodes. It takes a little more time to establish than other rootstocks, but once it does, it only gets better year after year. The lifespan of roses grafted onto Fortuniana is also said to be up to 40 years. Our grafted plants come to you in a one gallon nursery container.

Our Band-Size
Own-Root Plants

Our band-size own-root plants come to you in a 4"deep band container that is lined with a bio-degradable liner that makes removing your plant from the container much easier.  The plant is then planted with very little to no root disturbance. We use only premium soil with worm castings to give your plant a very strong start. Band size plants acclimate and adapt better to their new environment and soils than older plants. All of our band plants have been grown in our greenhouses and rooted in the container that you receive them in. This process greatly reduces any chance for exposure to diseases that a field crop would be exposed to. Shipping band size plants is also much more economical.  We also have own-root plants available in one gallons in limited numbers on certain varieties.
